There is no waiting period for a marriage in Georgia. If the documents are available, the marriage can even take place on the same day, depending on the scheduling at the local registry office.
The reason for this is that birth certificates and certificates of celibacy or marriage certificates are not required there. In Georgia, these documents are replaced by an affidavit from the couple at the local registry office shortly before the wedding.
The marriage certificate from Georgia is a valid document in most of the over 117 member countries of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. It does not have to be additionally legitimized in your home country. Our couples receive four copies of their marriage certificate in Georgian.
